The Sunday Salon (15)

Edition #15 of the Sunday Salon.  Remember that if you want to become a participant, log onto and join the group!

I think that most of the country can attest to the fact that this week has been completely miserable in terms of the weather.  I have needed to clean out my car for about 3 weeks now, but since I work most mornings, by the time I get off, which sometimes can be as early as 11, its still too hot to do anything other than go sit in the house.  I'm to the point where I don't even want to run errands.  Getting into the car, which is probably something like 150 degrees is just too much.  This being the case, I've spent the majority of my time indoors, in my room, reading.
The only time I did go out, other than for work, was Wednesday because I had to have some skin tags along my neck removed.  It involved numbing shots and it was like being stung by a bee about 20 times in my neck.  I had 16 of them, which was way more than I thought.

I also recorded my first vlog this week.  I never really thought I would get into that part of blogging, but something compelled me to do it.  I never noticed how much I move when I talk and I wonder if I make the same facial expressions...I guess I'll have to have someone else watch it and tell me!  Anyway, you can watch my vlog here, which really is just a recounting of what I got in my mailbox this week and what I'm reading and such.
I also wrote out that honesty in reviewing post that I was thinking about writing.  I'd say most bloggers that I speak to on a regular basis agree with me.  It doesn't have many comments, but it has a lot of views at least.

Anyway, the remainder of my day will be spent mentally preparing myself for the denim hell that I will be entering at 6 this evening.  For those of you that don't know, I'm a merchandising specialist in the men's and kid's departments at Old Navy.  We're resetting the men's denim wall tonight.  This is about the 4th or 5th time I've reset this wall since I've worked there, but this is the first time I'm in charge of it.  It should be interesting.
So, since we're speaking about my job, I'm going to leave you with the video of the song that Old Navy has managed to get stuck in my head almost every day this week.  I don't even really LIKE Owl City, but this song keeps getting stuck in my head.

Anyway, I hope you had a good previous week, and I hope the upcoming week is even better, and happy reading!

Oh, watching oneself on video can be uncomfortable. When I was taking graduate courses in counseling, we were videotaped during the sessions, and I grimace to recall how often I smiled. I thought it looked totally inappropriate at times. But watching the videos gave us an opportunity to pay attention to what we were doing and change our behavior.

I haven't been brave enough to "vlog" yet -I've always hated watching myself on video anyway! But I really enjoy seeing and hearing other bloggers - it's fun to put a face to the writer!

Stay cool!

My friends in the education department have to have their lessons videotaped. I imagine things like that and what you went through are much more nerve racking than making a vlog! :]

You should be brave and do it! I was a little apprehensive, but it was fun.
And I agree with you, its nice to be able to put a face that's not just a picture with the writer :]
